In the summer of 1999 I signed up with A Choice Nanny. I was a college student who loved children and I thought working as a nanny would be a great choice for me. Never could I imagine how great that choice would really be. I met with a wonderful family on a Friday afternoon in August. The eldest daughter, Elizabeth, dressed in “Space Angel” overalls, helped her mom answer the door. A beautiful little girl with pigtails and an infectious smile I fell in love instantly! After chatting with the mom for a while, the younger daughter, Alaina, woke up from her nap and I got to meet that precious bundle! The girls were amazing and the family was wonderful! Our schedules matched and I was able to meet their needs as a nanny so as soon as they offered the position I eagerly accepted.
11 years later…we are family! We’ve been to Disney together, we’ve gone to the beach in South Carolina and ate ice cream in New Hope Pennsylvania. We love the Central Park Zoo and go to Dylan’s Candy Bar in NYC as often as we can! The girls were flower girls in my wedding and I’ve been to every birthday they’ve celebrated…often with a homemade designer cake! Even though the girls are older now and don’t require the services of a “nanny,” we truly are a family.
I recently gave birth to our first child, Adam, and Elizabeth has accepted the role of Adam’s Godmother!
Now that we are seeking the services of a nanny, there is no one I would trust other than A Choice Nanny. I remember the interview process…the background checks & reference requests.
